A Day in Isolation

Worried, stressed, frightened about Covid-19? You and me both. BUT fear not, we are here to boost your mood with just some simple ideas that can help you survive… for at least one day anyway!! And of course… For under €20!!!

First things first…

Breakfast

We are going to start our day off by having some breakfast. And what better than some healthy pancakes right??

Banana and Oat pancakes. – My personal favourite breakfast to eat! So here we go
You will need
-1 Egg
-1 banana
-1 cup of Flahavans quick oats. (it doesn’t really matter which oats you use but these again, are my personal favourite. And they’re only €2)
-Your desired toppings

Mash up the banana, until it is like a beaten egg, then ironically, add in the beaten egg. Once that’s all done, add in your cup of oats. I heat my pan to the fourth hottest temperature on the hob and add in a little butter for flavour (in replacement of oil) and then get pouring. This mix usually makes about four smaller pancakes but that’s how I like them! I usually add some granola and honey but today I opted for just honey as I added some double chocolate protein powder into mine!

So there you have a simple AND nutritious breakfast for all just under €5 – and you will be able to make plenty of these with your ingredients!!

Healthy Body, Healthy Mind

So after you have yourself a nice breakfast with some slow releasing carbohydrates, we have a little work out routine for you to do, and all you will need it a yoga mat or a work out mat.

I will attach a link to buy some cheap mats, and the price really doesn’t matter here. The lower the price the better, because the quality of yoga and workout mats are pretty much ALWAYS the same!!!

To start your day, some home stretching is a great idea ( especially when we aren’t really meant to be going outside our houses at the moment) So we want our body to be flexible and not to be getting tight from sitting down all day.

To start your day, I am going to attach a video I use every morning when I wake up. It is “Yoga with Kassandra” I follow this step by step guide daily because I am not able to get out much anymore and also it relaxes me and gets me off to a positive start to the day.

To Snack

I really am a sucker for banana and oats but guys they are so quick and easy, and they make everything better!!! Banana and oat cookies. Mash One banana add in oats as desired, and some chocolate chips!!! Pop into the oven for 12 minutes and you have a snack on the go. These are great for all ages, and as I keep stressing, healthy too!!!

Keeping a healthy mindset during this crazy time is vital, but keeping a healthy lifestyle is what will keep you surviving.

We’re all about saving money in this crazy time, so a day like this for as little as €10 can get you into some pretty good habits that you can use long after this pandemic is over!!!
